Just wondering why Lee and Davis never approved a new Brigadier General to lead the Texas Brigade after John Gregg's death at the Battle of Darbytown and New Market Roads.

From what I can tell, the Texas Brigade, following the action at the Wilderness, never got above 600 men in strength for the remainder of the war. It did not need a Brigadier to be promoted to command; it was barely a large regiment.
