Where is it Wednesday, Gettysburg? 11/18/20

Here it is, this week’s mystery photo from the Gettysburg battlefield. Last week’s pic of the gas pipe fencing on Granite School House Lane was a tough one—I think this one will be a little easier!

I believe this was taken on Benner's Hill, near one of the Confederate batteries on the north side of the Hanover Rd.
That is the only place I remember seeing the pyramids of cannonballs.
This seems consistent with a photo posted on the stone sentinels website.
Looks like @pamc153PA was on the other side of one of these artillery pieces.

You are correct! It is the northernmost specimen. While some folks go to Benner's Hill, few venture across the busy Hannover Road to the north to look at these guns. There are more than one stack of cannon balls there - most have disappeared from the battlefield. I went to this spot for the first time this July and took the pic. The view to the south up Benner's Hill is worth the short walk.
