Wee Nee Volunteers. South Carolina Militia from Williamsburg who were attached to the 1st South Carolina, known as Gregg's Regiment. The men were raised near the Black River, which was known to Native Americans as the Wee Nee.

My great grandfather John Thomas McCants was in the Wee Nee Volunteers. The area on the map is now called Wee Tee. Any questions? There's actually lots of information available.
