Died: August 10, 1882 in Saratoga, N. Y.
Occupation: Blacksmith, Superintendent of Public Works, Bridge Builder, Railroad Road Master; Superintendent of Central (of Georgia) Railroad, Superintendent of the Western & Atlantic Railroad, Superintendent of the New Orleans, Jackson & Great Northern Railroad, Superintendent of the Southern (of Mississippi) Railroad, Superintendent of the Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas Railroad.

War Career: 1861 became President of the Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas Railroad.

1862 December 3, appointed Colonel in the Adjutant General's Department, assigned to superintending and directing transportation for the government on all the railroads of the Confederacy. Held a convention of railroad presidents and superintendents in Augusta.

1863 Traveled extensively, dealing with various railroad issues. May 22, Senate refused to confirm him as Colonel and therefore not able to retain his position. He returned to Arkansas to run the Vicksburg, Shreveport & Texas RR.

Post War: Returned to be President of the Central (of Georgia) Railroad, creating a large and powerful road.
