Uniforms Very odd Confederate hat.

I am not entirely convinced that it is a uniform carried on the field. He could be the officer's son wearing the frock coat and some accessories. However if the hat was really part of the uniform, the only explanation I could find, is that it is a model similar to the one worn by this 6th Arkansas soldier, but without internal reinforcements and drooping at the front.

I wondered if the hat had the front pulled down to droop in front.
