Line a bowl with lettuce leaves and put on them young onions, radishes, and cucumbers sliced thin. Serve with French dressing and crisp crakers.

French Dressing

4 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon of vinegar

Season to taste with pepper, salt and a little garlic. the bowl in which the dressing is to be made rubbed with garlic will give sufficient flavor.

Another recipe for French Dressing. This one is from book on Depression Era recipes.

French Dressing

1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon prepared mustard
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 tablespoon vinegar

Mix salt paprika in dish. Add mustard and oil. Mix well. Add the vinegar a little at a time and beat mixture with fork. Serve immediately.

We use to make a veggie salad with French dressing but the main ingredient that we used were french cut green beans, some onions, and some chopped up radishes.it has a sharp taste but the dressing's sweetness would offset it.
