Fred Morgan, of Richmond, Va. was a 1960s era Civil War relic hunter, and local dealer.
I got this from him long ago. See how he used medical adhesive tape to mark relics for identification?
He had

a nice personality, and could make it all interesting to new young collectors.

How much was a fine US buckle like this one in the early 1960s? About...$6.50.
But, of course, it was not too long after the 60s that they began to rise!
I remember from other dealers that a nice CS buckle could be purchased then for a hundred dollars,
or about the same for a nice Springfield Civil War musket. Gone are those days!
WAIT...what? You mean my John Dugan catalog is no good anymore? I was all set to pay full price for a Rebel sword captured at the High Water mark in Gettysburg and given to General Hancock for $500! Thats isnt the price anymore? Dang it!
