This song has been covered by many different artists over the years and appears on several ACW song compilations. My own Blue & Grey Trio even performed it locally up here in Canada. Two Brothers one in Blue (Harry) and one in Grey (Me) and the girl waiting by the railroad track (my wife Sue). Yes it is a poignant song! Certainly one of my favourites. Thanks for your post.
