Okay so technically not Civil War but think it could be of use to folks with Tennessee ties, as well as folks like me who are interested in migration patterns.
The Tennessee State Library & Archives recently launched a digital project that uses Revolutionary War pensions to track the records of a couple of thousand veterans who moved to Tennessee after the war. It's a work in progress, but they have over 1200 records added.
I played around with it a little--you can look at individual soldier's life journeys, places of origin, an 1832 density map, etc.
Anyway, even if you don't have ties to the Volunteer State, it's a fascinating resource! Check it out!
