"Three Hundred and Sixty-Six Days at Fort Delaware" by Gary Cole.
Size: 6x9 , Bibliography with 672 Footnotes, a few photos, (no maps)
Trafford Publishing, 2017
ISBN: 9781490784489

This is a self-published book that traces the ancestor of the author's wife. James Byrd FOOTE enlisted in the 1st Georgia Infantry but transferred into Company C, 7th Georgia Infantry. The book follows this unit in all the marches and battles. James Foote(1843-1894) was captured at Knoxville on 28 November 1863 and served 366 days in Fort Delaware before being released. The 7th Georgia Regiment served in General George T. Anderson's Brigade throughout the war. This brigade participated in engagements against at Yorktown, Seven Pines, Oak Grove, Mechanicsville, Gaines’s Mill, Garnett’s and Golding’s Farms, Savage’s Station, Malvern Hill, Kelly’s Ford, Rappahannock Station, Thoroughfare Gap, Second Manassas, Ox Hill, Boonsborough, Sharpsburg, Suffolk, Gettysburg, Funkstown, Charleston, Chattanooga, Campbell’s Station, and Knoxville.

I'm enjoying reading this because it is refreshing some details about Longstreet's Corps and Hood's Division involvement at Gettysburg and Chattanooga. It also fills in some blanks spots that I had about the troop movements.

The book can be obtained by ordering from the author Gary Cole. However, I did find a link to the publisher's site, below. Gary is my 3rd cousin. Gary has also written a novel about our common ancestor & his family, called "12 April".
