The story comes from "Our Devoted Friend" and the article from one of a number of papers that picked the NY Times article up. I am unable to find anything on Leslie and Kaiser after they moved south, and while there was a Leslie Livermore in the 5th Infantry, with no further information, it would be pure speculation to say they were one and the same.

One would like to think that, as is said, they lived happily ever after.

Good way to end the week to hear about the dedication between these two souls.

Kid you not: My smoke alarm went off at 5am this morning and my non-barking little monster dog Shiloh didn't stir in her crate.

Did she mistake it for an alarm clock? Maybe she needs a little dog friend with better hearing. (Ours have always enjoyed the companionship of other dogs.) :dog::dog:
