I don't think Morgan really accomplished anything... But that is just my personal opinion!

Well, see, Grierson did because he managed to pull away attention from Grant AND trot unscathed through Mississippi, wreaking havoc on all kinds of important things (read the paper). And no one from the Union side had done anything remotely as grand--which is one of the reasons Stuart, Forrest and Morgan got those fierce "untouchable" reputations. The sources are there to read the books--Butternut Warriors and the other books....the more you read and look at that map, the more unbelievable his feat.
