    Although (re: the State Historic Marker) I thought Thomas only had 5,000 of his men on hand for the battle... :cautious:

    Thanks for the kind words!

    I believe you are correct regarding Thomas' troops.

    If I recall correctly, Thomas brought 4 brigades to this conflict.

    This was another battle my great-great-grandfather just missed; all of the 14th Ohio OVI except for company "C" were about five miles away on some sort of patrol or scouting mission when the battle began, and though they 'marched to the sound of the guns,' they arrived too late to take part.

    To agree with Ole and express more, . Kentucky does an excellent job with its battlefields, historical sites and many parks. Have been to many but still have many on my to do list.
