My new Immigrants' Civil War article is up: On April 30, 1866 one of the worst race riots in United States history broke out in Memphis, Tennessee. It pitted many in the city's Irish community against the growing population of freed slaves who were settling there. This article, the second of a two-part series, gives a close examination of riot and its aftermath. The Civil War may have ended, but conflict still remained.
