It is important to the war, because the Kansas-Nebraska Act directly leads directly to what became what was known as Bleeding Kansas. This in turn is a prelude to the Civil War, especially in the Missouri and Kansas area. It also nullified the Missouri Compromise. Thanks for posting it. Hello and welcome to the Civil War Talk from Southeast Missouri.

The video was very interesting and thank you for posting it. The Kansas - Nebraska Act increased the sectional tensions within the country leading up to the Civil War. The issue of sectionalism was at increasing odds with the goals of westward expansion and manifest destiny. Many of the politicians believed that the concept of popular sovereignty would work but it only made matters worse.
