The Intelligent Whale the only surviving Union Civil War submarine.

Until I read this article I have never heard of this particular submarine. Maybe because it was someone's pipedream instead of an actual piece of Civil War armament and never used in combat. But still, thanks for bringing it to our attention.
 
I don't know if this is the correct forum for this, but I became interested in the Confederate submarine Hunley while listening to Shelby Foote's trilogy.
The idea of getting into one of these things once let alone THREE TIMES (different people) boggles my mind.
Here is some general information. It mentions it has a home at the Warren Lasch Conservation Center in North Carolina.

Hi Kathy. I went to the search box and wrote Hunley in the titles only and came up with a good amount to pick from. Here is one of the threads, https://civilwartalk.com/threads/confederate-submarine-h-l-hunley.154942/#post-1990847. All ok.
