This news item (http://news.yahoo.com/conservation-big-guns-opened-civil-war-184700708.html) is pretty interesting in a couple ways.

First, the guns that fired the opening shots of the Civil War against Fort Sumter are being preserved using modern technology, including sensors inside the barrels which monitor humidity.

Second, the big siege guns used during the war are apparently pretty rare, so having an existing set in the approximate positions they were in 150 years ago is no small feat.

Which leads to a small question: where is the gun that fired the first shot of the Civil War?
