For GAR dues? This came from a Pennsylvania auction. The only W.C. Fullerton I could search out
was from Minnesota, and his unit fought Indians during part of the Civil War period, and he may have been assigned to
a Union boat for a time on the Mississippi River. He later lived in Maryland after the war. His small GAR belongings were
bought by someone else. What do you think of this? When I was young GAR, etc. items were very cheap, and not
wanted by many serious collectors. Now they are big news. The lock still works.

Nice find. No doubt the item is what it seems to be---a G.A.R. money box.

In 1891 W.C. Fullerton was Post Commander of the Ellsworth G.A.R. Post in Central City, Colorado. The G.A. R. Post existed only until 1895. In all liklihood Fullerton also functioned as the treasurer as the Post was quite small.

Thank you, Connecticut
