Posted in the hopes that these can find their way to whoever the reenactor was that portrayed Armistead.

Immediately upon falling, the guy next to me in the front rank elbowed me with "on me" and we went forward to carry this incarnation of Armistead to the copse of trees. I recollect hearing the dialogue around those gathered in the photo verbatim to what was originally said.

This occurred about half a mile from the spectator line.

If anyone is privy to additional first hand accounts, particulary what - if any - preplanning went into this Passion Play, I'd like to hear from them.

I have always had a big interest in Gen. Armistead. Would like to read about his life before Gettysburg. Anyone know of a good book about his life?
