I'd like to visit again when its not so hot. Was last there in July of 2010.
Late March through mid May is usually a great time to visit Deep South sites.

It's not a question of worn out but Fold3 doesn't have the records scanned for 133 NY.

They fought at Port Hudson on June 14 and then moved to New Orleans. Seems to have been no other battles from then until September --when Louis was discharged. So it is possible he was wounded at Port Hudson unless he was wounded the previous year and spent a long time in recovery.
Quote:
May 26-July 9 Siege of Port Hudson
The regiment lost 5 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded, 4 officers and 71 enlisted men wounded and 2 men missing at Port Hudson exclusive of the casualties listed below
May 26-29 Expedition to Niblitt's Bluff
May 27 Assault on Port Hudson

The regiment lost 12 enlisted men killed or mortally wounded
June 14 Assault on Port Hudson
Lieutenant Benjamin Denton and 19 enlisted men were killed or mortally wounded and Lieutenant Johnson Hull was wounded
Great work DixieRifles, looks like you were right about it being Port Hudson.

Wow. I didn't know they fired that one. That would be a site to see and hear.
