Fort Negley was a fortification built for the American Civil War, located approximately 2-mile south of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It was the largest inland fort built in the United States during the war.

Very informative. I like the way a few details and pieces are preserved, with everything else well-explained in the interpretive signage. Thanks, Bill.

Once again, Pat.....

In my opinion, the Civil War battles west of Virginia do not receive the same notoriety.

It looks like there's some new and improved signage there since my visit in May, 2013.
