My son and I are heading south from Cincinnati, Ohio in mid-April to tour the Atlanta Campaign and the Andersonville National Historic Site.

Tour Itinerary :

* Chickamauga National Military Park (visited in 2012)
* Ringgold Gap
* Prater's Mill Site
* Tunnel Hill
* Battle of Rocky Face/Mill Creek Gap
* Dalton
* Dug Gap Battlefield
* Resaca (new Camp Creek Valley Battlefield Park)
* Calhoun (Battle of Rome's Cross Roads)
* Cassville
* Cartersville (Cooper Ironworks)
* Allatoona Pass Battlefield
* Dallas/New Hope Church/Pickett's Mill Site
* Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield
* Marietta
* Smyrna (Battle of Ruff's Mill Site)
* Atlanta (Battles of Peachtree Creek, Atlanta, Ezra Church, Utoy Creek)
* Cyclorama, Oakland Cemetery, State Capitol
* Jonesboro
* Lovejoy's Station (Nash Farm Battlefield)
* Andersonville National Historic Site

After reading a ton of different material, I understand the majority of the battlefields have been destroyed by urban development (especially Atlanta sites).

Has any CWT member completed this tour?

If yes, I have a bunch of questions before we head out in April........

Thanks, Bill

* My favorite Atlanta Campaign book is "The Campaign for Atlanta" by William R. Scaife (RIP)

Thanks, chellers!

I did a engine search before I posted my link but I didn't find a thread like the one you posted.

You're welcome. With this search engine you sorta have to hold your mouth just right.:wink:

I was hoping you might find some leads or perhaps be able to contact some of the folks who posted to the thread.

Sounds like a great trip!
