I visited this museum during my time in Appomattox. I am glad these artifacts have been saved. The museum does a good job of telling the story of the CW from several perspectives. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

This is an outstanding museum. It actually has rare artifacts, whereas most museums I go to have time-period firearms, minie balls, and things you see in every other museum.

Sure that's great, but there's only one place you can see Lee's surrender uniform and sword.

It's great that it is so close to Appomattox, a place where many Civil War Buffs would go, and most Americans should go. It's the place where Emancipation really happened. As a ranger said out at the park- "The surrender gave the Emancipation Proclamation teeth."
