Tennessee Wars Commission Announces over $115,000 in Grant Funding
February 14, 2019

'This year's projects include $50,000 to assist the Battle of Franklin Trust to design and purchase museum exhibit displays for the new Carter House State Historic Site Visitors Center in Franklin. A $15,000 grant will fund new interpretive replica Civil War-era artillery equipment at Johnsonville State Historic Park. $48,800 was awarded to Parkers Crossroads Battlefield in Henderson County for the purchase of a replica Civil War artillery caisson and limber and wayside signage which will interpret the crucial role that artillery played in the December, 1862 battle. A grant of $1810 will help fund interpretive panels and supplies through which Alvin C York State Historic Park in Pall Mall can further interpret the impact of the Civil War in the Wolf River Valley.'

Nice to see Parker's Crossroads getting a good bit of funding. I just met a guy who lived down in TN around that area who did a ton of research years ago and had it all compiled in this giant binder on the battle. Unfortunately there wasn't an abundant amount of time to thumb through it, maybe next time!
