Keep in mind in the 1940s interracial sex was taboo. Clark Gable and Yovonne De Carlo ( who later played "Lily " Herman Munster"s wife in the 1960s Tv hit "the Munsters) broached interracial sex in the early 1950s. Taproots per the film critic Leonard Maltin was not a very popular movie.
