: Mecklenburg Gardens 1865 Homecoming Dinner
When: Friday, January 17th, 2020: 6pm-11pm
Where: Mecklenburg Gardens, 302 E. University Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45219

Join us at historic Mecklenburg Gardens (est. 1865) for an evening filled with great food and drink to benefit a excellent cause - The Ninth Ohio: A Living History! There will be a pig roast, buffet, KEG TAPPING, as well as live music, exhibits and a series of speakers on several topics surrounding the German-American homecoming after the war. All who attend in period civilian, federal or GAR dress* will receive a free drink voucher! Speakers and topics include:

Author and German-American Citizens League President Don Heinrich Tolzmann - Beer Baron Christian Moerlein and his Civil War Service
Kolping Society of Cincinnati Historian Nancy Pelzel - Schützenfest Cincinnati and the German-American Homecoming
Author Dann Woellert - Frank Linck, Brewer and Sutler
Living Historian Jason Brown - Postwar Civilian Life and the GAR
Over-the-Rhine Museum Board Member Anne Steinert - The Fettweis Family and the OTR Museum Project

Sounds like a great time. I have to run to Metamora Ind. Friday but if I get back will try to make it. I have been to the German-American Hall in Hamilton. A lot of those Germans from the 48 revolution settled in Cincinnati and fought for the Union.
