With April 5, being caramel day, thought post on the Sugar Daddy, to me the ultimate caramel treat. Today Sugar Daddy is made by Tootsie Roll Industries. It was originally called the "Papa Sucker" and was first created in 1925. In 1932 the name was changed to the "Sugar Daddy". Sugar Daddy also has Sugar Mama and Sugar Babies. They are all delicious caramel candies.

You know I don't think I've ever eaten a Sugar Daddy before now that I think about it. I do really enjoy the Kraft Caramels, especially love the ones that have the vanilla center, it adds a little something extra to the caramel.

I remember Sugar Babies,but Sugar Mama I don't think I ever saw.

My teeth were never happy with Sugar Daddy. Never found Sugar Mama. Loved Sugar Babies, though, and, although my current favorite candy is caramel covered with dark chocolate (South Bend Chocolate Factory Seconds from the end of the table have the caramel and chocolate in perfect proportion -- about fifty fifty), but I get Sugar Babies once in a while and enjoy the nostalgia.
