Been pretty busy so haven’t posted in awhile. I visited Stonewall’s grave last weekend.
Here’s a few photos.

I would like to know if both his first and second wife is buried within his place of rest.
Thanks,
Lubliner.
Mary Anna Morrison Jackson is buried beside him beneath or in front of the statue - remember that when he was first buried she was still very much alive and he was originally located in their family plot also shown above. I believe she was still living when he was moved to the circle dominated by the statue and was eventually buried beside him. His first wife Elinor Junkin Jackson was also buried in the Junkin family plot, only a short distance from the Jackson family plot, and remains there to this day. Although now hard to read, I photographed her headstone on a previous visit:

I LOVED his house! It was so interesting that it was a Doctor’s house before his and how the rooms were laid out to reflect that. But I especially loved Jackson’s garden and small fruit orchard. It inspired me.

How the garden looked during a visit in 2015. The Jacksons owned other property around Lexington, at least one holding big enough for a small farm.

This is a beautiful garden spot. I can almost picture a young man in confederate gray entertaining a southern damsel at the bench at the end of the lane as the sun is sinking low on the horizon.
