Filmore Lute Laborde

Birth: Jan. 12, 1893
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA
Death: Apr. 1, 1982
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA

He was CPL. in the US Army during World War I. However, with my grandpa having passed away, I'm unsure who his father was.

It's possible it was
Hypolite Laborde -
Birth: Dec. 11, 1860
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA
Death: May 4, 1927
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA

Possible mother was Marie Louise Porterie Laborde
Birth: Dec. 13, 1862
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA
Death: Mar. 13, 1949
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA

Also Filmore's wife was
Ilia Cecilia Bordelon Laborde
Birth: Dec. 22, 1902
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA
Death: Dec. 16, 1964
Marksville
Avoyelles Parish
Louisiana, USA

Anyway, any help is greatly appreciated. I'm hoping to join SCV once I can establish a connection.

Records from Ancestry.com
  • 1900 Census shows Filmore as the son of Alphonse (age 42) and Alice Laborde (age 43). Louisiana marriage records show Alice's maiden name as Bonnette.
  • 1870 Census shows Alphonse as the son of Jean P. (age 56) and Zoe (age 49) Laborde. Marriage record shows Zoe's maiden name as Dupuis.
Census records were from Avoyelles Parish. There is no indication of military service.

Laborde, Alphonse Gauthier, Louise Nov 22, 1882 Avoyelles Parish, I found this on Alphonse, cant find anything about Alice, although a genealogy tree shows-ALPHONSE LABORDE, b. Aug 5, 1851, Avoyelles Parish, La; m. ALICIA BONNETTE, Dec 11, 1873, St. Joseph Church, Marksville, LA.

Although I did find my great-great aunt, Elizabeth Laborde, her husband was a CSA Veteran.
Guillory, Julien, Pvt. Co. D, Crescent Regt. La. Inf. En. Nov. 1, 1862, Camp Pratt, La. Present
on Rolls to Feb., 1863.

What is the connection to Jules P Laborde? I'm not seeing him on any of trees or genealogy. I found Guillory, Julien, Pvt. Co. D, Crescent Regt. La. Inf. En. Nov. 1, 1862, Camp Pratt, La. Present
on Rolls to Feb., 1863. who is my great great uncle. He was married to Alphonse's sister Elizabeth.

Thought it might be the same man, spelling of names varies at times with Civil War records. Though he would have been in his mid 40's when the war began.

I found 15 men with this surname serving in Louisiana units. Good luck in your research. It can be very rewarding.

There are two Alphonse Laborde records in Avoyelles Parish, one (wife Alice) in Police Jury Ward 2 and one (wife Louise) in Police Jury Ward 9). Filmore appears in the Ward 2 record. The 1900 Census record for the family of Filmore is attached. Alphonse is on the last line of the first page, the remainder of the family at the top of the second page.
