Wow CSA,
I never knew St. Augustine had very much of a Confederate connection as the city was occupied by Union troops on 11 March 1862 and was never again in Confederate hands. Thanks for the info.

Good post, there were about 11 Confederate Florida Infantry regiments formed during the war, along with the 2nd Florida Battalion and 1st Florida Infantry Reserves. The 1st and 3rd Florida fought in the AoT in the west and the rest fought in the east, although the 4th, 6th, 7th were formed later and joined the AoT. There was a Florida Brigade in the AoNV and in the AoT. The one in the AoNV was made up of the 2nd, 5th, and 8th Florida and later the 9th, 10th, and 11th. The one in the AoT was made up of the 1st-3rd Florida consolidated regiments, the 4th, and later the 6th and 7th Florida. After the 1st and 3rd fought at Perryville they were consolidated in December 1862 and fought throughout the rest of the war in the AoT.

Here's the battle flag of the 1st-3rd Florida Infantry
