Is there any kind of marker or sign around Frederick indicating the spot where the cigars and orders were found? Or is that spot lost to history or just a very general area?

Mike T.

I went to Frederick several years back and walked Fox's Gap, where my great grandfather was wounded on South Mountain on September 14th, 1862. There are many monuments and markers around the area, but I do not remember seeing one for the site of the Confederate Battle Plan.

However, this site has a map with the spot marked where they were found, the story of who found them, and how they were found.
