A genuine Civil War outcome: Today is the anniversary of the day slaves in Texas were actually notified they'd been free for a while ...which of course their masters had been holding close to the vest in the hopes the crops could be harvested for free for another year.

It's become an annual U.S. national celebration. Congrats from me, what say yous?

Charleston Apologizes for City’s Role in Slave Trade

"… The Charleston City Council formally apologized and denounced the city’s role in the slave trade in a resolution approved Tuesday night..."

I suppose that if the heritage Confederacy was only about slavery then heritage Confederates would consider this a sellout -- though heritage Southerners not so much.
