Welcome From The Heart Of Dixie. Be sure to stop by the Weapons & Ammo forum.

Hello and welcome to the forum from a cohost of the Uniforms & Relic form. I hope you find items of interest to you. We have had a few threads in the past about the 6th Penn. Cavalry.

Hello, and greetings from southern Vermont. Moved here 20 years ago from outside Philadelphia, where I grew up.

I have recently become very interested in the Civil War, esp. the 6th PA Cavalry. My grandmother's grandfather was Col. C Ross Smith of the 6th PA. I have used his image as my avatar. I hope to contribute what I can, while learning so much. In my genealogical research, I have found 1 ancestor who died at City Point (with the 188th NY Infantry).

Welcome.

Here is another info page from the Antietam site -- basically shows his service record and major life events. I like the picture as well..

Says he is buried at Woodlands cemetery.

Rush's Lancers, two monuments at Gettysburg! Goodness. You would of course be welcome related to Agnes Pifflefeffer of Scranton, PA, who never managed to enlist but gee whiz. Welcome from Dauphin County.
