There are around 500 Confederate gravesites in Fayette County Georgia. There were only 2 known (to me) areas of skirmish's here. One was in Shakerag(now Peachtree City). The other happened when a supply wagon train was found eight days after the fall of Atlanta. General McCook(Union) found the wagons and had them burned along with destroying around 800 mules. The only known depiction of that raid was published in Harpers Weekly September 3rd 1864 issue. I was able to find an original copy of that issue and had the drawing framed.... Still trying to find the exact location of the incident but believe it was 1 block west of the courthouse below the City Cemetery.
