VISTA — As cannons cracked — loud and sharp — against the warm March air, George Prather found himself rattled.
Men lay crumpled on the ground, smoke rising and falling around them, as medics rushed to dress their wounds. Soldiers on both sides relentlessly marched ahead, firing, reloading, maneuvering.
