Some great ship illustrations by Tony Gibbons in this book. What do other think of this book?
Yes, but did she find it? You can't drop a teaser like that, go home with a book and leave yarn in the shop.
No she did nt find her color She did not want dark rust or light rust but medium rust that is not too rusty. Which they use to make years ago but have stopped making just to vexing her.
Love the picture and the "great yarn caper."Some great ship illustrations by Tony Gibbons in this book. What do other think of this book?

It's not even just the color; when I was helping a lady friend with this some years back, we had to match the dye lots of skeins of yarn to get a true color match (you all will be happy to know the dye lot is printed on the label).
Thanks for posting. I've not read the book, but I believe the Naval history of the Civil War has been underappreciated and largely uncovered by writers. Some great ship illustrations by Tony Gibbons in this book. What do other think of this book?

Paul Silverstone, Warships of the Civil War Navies. (Annapolis, MD: Naval Institute Press, 1989) is the best I have seen.Nice pictures, but that's about all. For a reference, I'd suggest sticking with works by Paul H. Silverstone or Donald Canney.
There's a lot of good stuff out there, but it gets drowned out in popular memory by Jeff Daniels screaming "Bayonets!"Thanks for posting. I've not read the book, but I believe the Naval history of the Civil War has been underappreciated and largely uncovered by writers.
I wonder how many Americans remember, "**** the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" Maybe if we had Bradley Cooper play the part....There's a lot of good stuff out there, but it gets drowned out in popular memory by Jeff Daniels screaming "Bayonets!"
Cooper as Civil War naval hero works for me.I wonder how many Americans remember, "**** the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!" Maybe if we had Bradley Cooper play the part....
