An old vid but intresting, it offers a good example of how topography and computer mapping can help with the analysis of how a battle played out, there’s also an explanation/theory of why the union guns struggled to have any real impact.
Like all things in archaeology a theory remains speculative, it is the job of the archaeologists and those tasked with examining the data to Interpret the results of their findings and produce an explanation based on that evidence.
Considering that the narrator concludes with ‘archaeology has disproved some of the stories that have been believed for a century and a half’, I’m interested to know if others are in agreement with the findings, does anyone have an alternative theory for the evidence found?
