Hi all! I was honored to participate in the holiday wreath-laying in the National Cemetery again this year, my third time. This year was cold and cloudy but no rain (unlike last year—cold and wet, yuck), and things went off without a hitch. Kids from the Gettysburg elementary schools (upper grades) helped the adults from the community, and from several groups like Gettysburg Past and Present, place the wreaths on all the graves in the cemetery, in about an hour. Giant foods donated the wreaths and members of GPP and others put the bows on them in the morning, and then the ceremony was at 1 p.m. As always, it’s an honor to be part of such a worthy cause.
