While shooting some video for YouTube on the Sioux Wars in the 1860s and 70s, I stumbled into a Grand Army of the Republic Lodge that is now a museum in Litchfield, MN.

In the museum is an exhibit of the blanket a Confederate soldier gave to the wounded SGT Marty. I have attached a still from my video and the Wikipedia link on him.

Marty was a private at Gettysburg in Company B. He was born in Engi, Glarus, Switzerland on August 2, 1837 and emigrated to the U.S. in 1846. He joined a local militia group called the Stillwater Boys, some of whom signed up with Company B when it was mustered into service. He died on February 7, 1923.
