Seeking Image Owner, USS John P. Jackson

Thank you gentleman. I appreciate the warm welcome.

Y'all had mentioned sister ships. I do have a main deck plan for Baltimore, which was the same size as J.P. Jackson. Baltimore was a little wider at amidships. Not by much, just a few feet. Y'all might find the image interesting. After the refit, the passenger cabins had their seats removed. Then new bulkheads were installed that divided up the former passenger cabins into officers' quarters, a galley, and a dispensary. The intermediate 3-ft wide hallways that connected those cabins were opened up for hammock space (inboard of the paddle wheel houses). The former 10-ft wide horse-team corridors were closed off at the ends with large doors to create long hallways. These wider hallways were very useful because they allowed guns to be quickly transferred to different parts of the ship as needed. For example, when USS Westfield's 100 lb. Parrott rifle exploded during her bombardment of Port Lavaca in Texas, they quickly moved some of her smaller guns to her bow to compensate until a new rifled gun could be obtained.
