This showed on a modern discussion of secession and is a legit item to note as long as we don't get into a modern debate about Brexit.
As some folks know Brexist is the British secession from the European Union.

Is Brexit a divorce, or is the UK leaving a club? This is the first question to answer as negotatiors discuss the key aspects of the EU-UK financial settlement. The authors present various scenarios, and find that the UK could be expected to pay between €25.4 billion and €65.1 billion. But the final cost can only be calculated after extensive political negotiations.

Limiting the discussion to the 1860-61 secession, but limited examples directly related to that secession from the modern one are acceptable. For example the idea that it would be cheap, but in reality maybe not and idea of simple vs complex.

This thread will be closely moderated to deter modern partisan political discussion.
