Schenkl Round

Does anyone know of picture of the Schenkl round with the paper sabot on the end of the projectile? Vaughn
There are several photos online of them both US & CS just google civil war schenkl shell. That way I don't have to worry about copyright stuff.

The State of Michigan Historical Museum has one on display. I lost the image of it when I lost my phone, but remember posting a photo of it here on CivilWarTalk a while ago.

The Confederate copies had wooden sabots. The problem with the paper mache' sabots were that they tended to absorb moisture, swell and either fall apart or not fit into the tube.
