A saddle blanket that is either over the saddle or under, with a swallow tail design, with the lines which identify the branch as trim; rank as trim; with eagle or stars depending on the rank of the rider.

Example: General Bufford, who would be Cavalry, would have a blanket black, trimmed in two gold lines of trim with a star in the corner of the swallow tail inside of the trim *|
