For those that don't know. One of our users, @TheBloodySixthMS passed away this morning. It came over my Facebook feed. He hasn't been active on the site in over a year.

Our friend, Timothy Hallman was an avid re-enactor

The last conversation I had with him was about the early flags of the 6th Mississippi Infantry Regiment.
He was hand sewing some flags, and was very concerned about authenticity.

I'm no flag expert, and referred him to a couple of 6th Mississippi sites.

I did tell him that I thought his first flag looked identical to the original.

Thank you for that lovely share @7th Mississippi Infantry . He really was devoted to his reenacting and ancestral history as can be seen by the thread you linked.

What a great way to remember him here.

May he rest in peace.

RIP Tim @TheBloodySixthMS
I am from South Mississippi. I have 37+ relatives that fought in the War Between the States. Predominately in the 6th MS Infantry. Hope to learn a lot on this forum. I'm also a reenactor. Thanks! Forward the Colors! Deo Vindice!
About sewing:
100% cotton. Ha my fingers have been eluding the needle so far lol
About sewing machines:
I use my wife's more than she uses it lol
About reenacting:
I was there! Fell in with the 28th Georgia Infantry.
I have trimmed and sewed my haversack and canteen straps so no more knots
Thank you James.
Thank you all!
No slowing down from here. I always campaign.
I will be there!
Thank you all! Hope to see you on the field
