Selling a Portugese-assembled percussion musket, with Brown Bess lock plate and barrel with British ordnance proofs (G.R.). Other parts could be British as well, but not certain. These parts are probably from British-provided arms in the Napoleonic era.
Barrel: 30 3/8 inches, smoothbore, with bayonet bar attached. Barrel is secured with pins.
The stock has been refinished, and shows no markings.
Brass furniture.
Inventory numbered 249
The ramrod looks original but the tip is missing.
No indication that it's a Civil War import, but who knows?
Earliest known history: came from a pawn shop in Georgia several years ago.
US $650 plus shipping
