The Baltimore & Ohio Rail Road crosses the Patapsco River on the Thomas Viaduct, just south of the city of Baltimore. Union troops maintained a camp in the area throughout the war to protect against sabateurs and Confederate raiders.

The Thomas Viaduct remains in use today, carrying freight trains operated by CSX Corp.

I'm not responsible if you get to mucking around in Google Earth and forget to go to work, pick up the kids, etc.

ETA: I find Google Earth, a free downloadable application, much more versatile than Google Maps. It's worth trying if you haven't.
