Quickstep was a fast rate of march, usually dictated by the beat of martial music. This pace was about 110 steps per minute, during which soldiers covered about 80 to 90 yards.

Hm. Modern quick-time is 120 per minute; double-time is 180. I never personally experienced "march time" or whatever it might be called in d & c now, which logically should be 90 per minute.
