I was wondering if anyone could shed a little light on what the St. Johns R. No.11 on the gun stands for?
I know it's in really rough shape but I am curious as to what it is in reference too. Thoughts? Thanks

Welcome from the UK and from The First Bull Run/ Manassas Forum

As to your specific question I am sure one of our experts will be along shortly. If not I'd give it a couple of days then ask again in the Weapons and Ammunition sub forums where they tend to hang out.

Welcome From The Heart Of Dixie. I have to agree with @johan_steele I'm leaning Military School.

Perhaps even the St John's Military School in Kansas, which is closing in two months after 131 years.

The place collapsed under an avalanche of lawsuits over physical abuse, hazing, sodomy, branding and a host of other ugly stuff.
