I thought perhaps it was worth mentioning the 200th birthday anniversary of Queen Victoria, her name is synonymous (Victorian) with the historical period that we’ve all become interested in.
My understanding is that quite a few people of the USA are interested in the history of the British Monarchy and in particular Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. I’m also aware that the British monarchy were instrumental in keeping Britain out of the war.
I thought this would be a good place for people to discuss their feelings about the Queen and the Victorian period in general, I’d be interested to know what people think about Queen Victoria’s attitude towards the war, occasionally, I’ve read articles that claim that the monarchy secretly admired the CSA, what do people think?
