I found this bullet while metal detecting right next to an 1800's plantation in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Now I've never found a civil war bullet, but this thing looks an awful lot like a Civil War era bullet because there is a ring along the base of the bullet and there is a groove on the bottom of the bullet as well. From what I've found online, I'm assuming that this is a .44 Colt Army Model bullet. Any Help identifying this bullet will be greatly appreciated!
